Technical diving is a discipline that utilizes special methods, equipment,
training and skills to improve underwater safety and performance, enabling
divers to explore a wide range of underwater environments and perform tasks
beyond the scope of the recreational open water diver. It is conducted in
the "overhead environment" of a cave, wreck, or decompression ceiling where the
diver cannot freely ascend to the surface.
Technical diver training provides vital preparation
for activities ranging from cave diving to deep-ocean wreck diving.
Without the skills learned in Advanced Nitrox Diver and
Decompression Procedures, Florida cave divers are limited in both range and
bottom time.
|
We are striving to impress upon the diver the immense value that caves possess and the importance of conserving and protecting these extremely fragile resources. These certifications are offered by pioneer agencies such as IANTD and TDI. (IANTD has now combined Advanced Deep Air and Technical Nitrox program into one, now called Technical Diver program.) For the Technical divers who wishes to increase technical knowledge through education and safe training, visit the certification chart above.
